Prices of pulp and base paper in major regional markets for household paper in September 2024

According to the survey data of "Life Paper" magazine, in the main regional markets of life paper in September 2024, except for the relatively stable average pulp price in China, the average pulp price in other regions has generally declined. Among them, the average price of China bleached hardwood pulpboard (imported) and bleached eucalyptus wet pulp has dropped the most, both by 430 CNY/t.

The specific changes in pulp prices in September 2024 are as follows: the average price of China bleached hardwood pulpboard (imported) dropped by 22 CNY/t to 4888 CNY/t. The average price of China bleached coniferous pulpboard (imported) dropped by 7 CNY/t to 5713 CNY/t. The average price of China bleached hardwood pulpboard (imported) dropped by 430 CNY/t to 4850 CNY/t. The average price of China local bleached eucalyptus wet pulp (absolute dry) dropped by 430 CNY/t to 5050 CNY/t.

Among non-wood pulp raw materials, the average price of bleached bamboo pulp boards in China was 5,450 CNY/t, and the average price of natural bamboo pulp boards and China was 4,300 CNY/t, unchanged from August. The average price of bleached bagasse wet pulp (absolute dry basis) in China fell by 60 CNY/t to 4,650 CNY/t.

In September 2024, the base paper prices in the household paper market in different regions showed different characteristics. The price of bleached wood pulp base paper in China region rose by 235 yuan/t. At the same time, the average price of bleached wood pulp base paper in China fell by 215 CNY/t. The prices of bleached and natural bamboo pulp base paper in China were relatively stable.

Specifically, among wood pulp base paper, the average price of bleached wood pulp base paper in China rose by 235 CNY/t to 6,675 CNY/t. The average price of bleached wood pulp base paper in China fell by 215 CNY/t to 6,675 CNY/t.

Among non-wood pulp base paper, the average price of bleached bamboo pulp base paper in China rose by 38 CNY/t to 6,763 CNY/t. The average price of natural bamboo pulp base paper in China was 5,825 CNY/t, unchanged from August. The average price of bleached bagasse pulp base paper in China fell by 140 CNY/t to about 6,050 CNY/t.
